Our angel investor and biggest cheerleader visited our mud house

Reading Time 4 minutes

Last week was a full circle moment.

Our mom, our angel investor, came to stay at our mud house.
Dad, our biggest cheerleader, brought his friends along.

They finally saw what we’ve been building for the past three years.

And they were super happy.
Like kids entering snow white’s house.

Mom stayed with us for three days.
She sipped chai on the porch.
Watched the sunset from the valley edge.
And said something we’ll never forget:

“It feels like I’m staying in a 5-star resort.
I can’t believe you built this.”

Dad arrived with a gang of friends.
Proudly showing off our home like it was his project.

They trekked 40 minutes on the hottest day.
But he was so happy.

These were the moments we lived for.

But this kind of support wasn’t always loud.
It came quietly.
Patiently.
With a little bit of doubt.

When Raghav quit his job 5 years ago, they didn’t understand.
But they didn’t stop him either.

They let us try.
Let us fail.
Let us move to the mountains.

We remember showing them movies like
Captain Fantastic,
The Biggest Little Farm.
We tried to explain our madness through other people’s stories.

Dad helped us lease the land by convincing his friend.
But later he admitted:

“We thought you'd quit and come back in six months.”

After year three, our house had no roof.
Mom confessed to having almost lost hope that we’d ever finish the house.

But they never pulled back their support.
Never stopped cheering for us.

This dream started as a 150 sq ft hut.
A tiny cottage.
We thought we’d do it on our own.
We had no idea how much we’d need help.

The tiny house became bigger as we progressed.

That’s when mom became our angel investor.
She lent us money.
She put her savings into our dream.

Quietly.
Without pressure.
Without expectations.

We built this home with blood, sweat, and tears.
But also with belief.
Theirs and ours.

If you’re building something wild and slow and full of heart—
Just know:

Your family might not get it at first.
They might doubt it.
They might doubt you.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t believe in you.
Or love you any less.

Keep showing up.
Keep trusting your path.

And one day—
Your angel investor might sit on your handmade bench, sip chai, and whisper:

“I can’t believe you built this.”

We love our parents and our immensely grateful for their support to fuel our dreams and be the wind beneath our wings.

Love,
Raghav and Ansh
