There is a mass exodus of creative minds from big cities to the countryside.

Young creatives are stepping away from the soul-grinding rat race.

They want to decelerate, slow down, reconnect with nature, find their tribe, and embrace a simpler life.

All the mega-cities like New Delhi, London, New York, and Tokyo are now overpopulated, overpolluted, overpriced, and overstimulated.

Cities do not offer the fertile breeding ground to the creatives that they once used to.

Even though cities are overflowing with creative hubs, bustling events, and individuals, the constant stimulation leaves little room for clear thinking.

It’s a world obsessed with speed and noise.

People spend most of their income on renting dingy flats with no sunlight, and this can affect their mental health negatively.

We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.

Henry David Thoreau

Like everyone else, the pandemic forced us to rethink our lifestyles, food choices, relationships, careers, and habitats.

Even though our family lives in the greener part of the city, we lived close to nature but were not engaging with nature.

We wanted to do good things in the world that are fulfilling and meaningful but without sacrificing our health, values, dreams, and most importantly our soul.

Make a living. Living to Make.

We moved to a remote village in the Himalayas, in a forest near Rishikesh.

We moved to the rural pastures in 2021 -

To live deliberately.

To observe nature and learn from it.

To rediscover our suppressed instincts.

To create something beautiful with our own hands.

To forge new bonds and strengthen old ones.

To explore, heal, and nurture each other's human potential.

To be our authentic selves.

To dream collectively, and express ourselves creatively.

To co-conspire a more inclusive and sustainable world we know is possible.

If our journey resonates with your aspirations, we'd love to hear your dreams of making a move to the countryside.

Share your thoughts.
